The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program, located in Reno, Nevada, is seeking an individual interested in joining a fast-paced, highly motivated, energetic, and passionate team as a member of the Principal Faculty. This is a 12-month faculty (non-tenure) position in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. As a principal faculty member, this position has a unique opportunity to participate in building a clinical and academic experience for a developing program with the support of the Program Director and program staff and faculty, the School of Medicine, and engaged community partners. A desirable candidate ideally has a background in physician assistant education, current knowledge of ARC-PA standards and accreditation, and clinical work experience. The successful candidate will be a core member of the teaching faculty, student advisor and evaluator, and will participate in the program development, accreditation process, and ongoing review, analysis, and evaluation of the program. The successful candidate will perform clinical service for 20% FTE, and will additionally engage in scholarly, service, and other professional activities both within the School of Medicine and University as well as outside the organization.
The program is seeking candidates with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate students, and a willingness to accept the challenge of developing new initiatives. The Principal Faculty member must support the program’s mission and adhere to the required ARC-PA accreditation process through its defined standards.
