The Family Support Specialist, under general supervision of the Program Manager and working in the Family Housing Department, will provide a range of case management, prevention, assessment, counseling, and trauma specific intervention services with individuals and families who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to homelessness and other traumatic events. The specialist will be expected to work one-on-one with clients and their families to provide ongoing supports that will assist with maintaining housing, increasing self-sufficiency, and pursue recovery.
Services that are provided are anchored in evidenced based models that include Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Permanent Supportive Housing, and Trauma Adapted Family Connections. The Family Support Specialist will complete progress notes, service logs, assessments and other pertinent documentation that is in accordance with agency and regulatory service standards.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a Licensed Social worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have a Master's Degree in a related field.
