Responsible for the delivery of primary health care with a focus on the medical needs and treatment of infants, children and adolescents. The specialized training allows them to provide young patients and their families with emotional support and medical care. Care Alliance pediatric nurse focus on individuals who are underserved, including homeless, living in public housing, or uninsured. Function as charge nurse.
Experience as a community-oriented nurse working with underserved populations.
Pediatric experience a must.
Leadership experience to run a fast pace clinic
Excellent clinical skills
Familiarity with health issues including chronic illnesses, and communicable diseases.
Ability to work independently within scope of nursing practice.
Strong computer skills; experience with electronic medical records.
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills; supervisory experience desired.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and produce expected results; strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate and work with diverse populations, including clients, staff and volunteers.

Valid Ohio driver's license, insurance and transportation.
Provides health and medical care for children from birth through late teens.
Provides expert care to the child while working with the family to address their concerns, fears, problems, and options.
Identify changes in a child's signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations
Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings
Serve as a child advocate
Participate in activities to manage a child's pain
Analyze situations to anticipate pathophysiological problems and detect changes in status
Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines
Determine a child's needs related to pain management
Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse
Function as charge nurse. Supervisory experience preferred.
Triage, complete intake and basic health assessments and screening on patients according to Care Alliance protocols.
Perform basic procedures, including venipunctures, IV's, injections, EKG's, and assist with other procedures.
Maintain accurate health care records, maintaining confidentiality.
Conduct Nurse Clinics.
Maintain medications and medical supplies.
Work collaboratively with other Care Alliance health professionals to facilitate a team approach to patient management.
Assist with the orientation/supervision of clinical personnel, students and volunteers.
Other responsibilities as assigned
Registered nurse with current Ohio licensure; BSN preferred
Minimum two-three years' experience; primary care, chronic care, outpatient, community health and pediatric nursing required; supervisory experience highly preferred.
Previous experience with individuals who are underserved, homeless or living in public housing preferred.
Typical Work Hours
Full time, 40 hours, flexible schedule (may include evenings and weekends)
